How to get around Maine travel restrictions
Maine travelers will need to travel through the state’s border to get to their destination.
The Department of Transportation says they’re working on a plan to reduce the number of travelers coming through the border, and it is expected to be complete by early fall.
Travelers will be able to cross the border through the city of New Bedford, but the Maine Department of Health says they can only enter the state for the purposes of a doctor’s appointment, if they are accompanied by a doctor and must have a medical license.
Traveling through New Bedford is limited to one person, and the state requires visitors to take a taxi, bus or train.
The department says the changes will not affect travelers from other states.
