How to stay safe at covid-travel restrictions

Travelers from the United States, Canada, and other countries who travel to Mexico on or after Sept. 1 are subject to new restrictions.

Travelers from Mexico to the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, and Thailand are also being advised to make a stopover in the country.

“Travelers must ensure they are in possession of all necessary documentation,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced in a notice.

“If you are in the United states, Canada or Australia, you must present your passport to customs at the port of entry and provide proof of your itinerary.

If you are travelling to the UK, you will need to provide your travel documents.”

The travel restrictions were announced after a number of high-profile cases of C. difficile infection in travelers from the U.S. and Europe, including a 26-year-old man from Texas, a 27-year old man from New Jersey, and a 21-yearold woman from Oregon.
